About Us

An independent, community-funded local newsroom.

The Issaquah Spotlight is an independent, community-funded digital newspaper coming to the greater Issaquah area. We are focused on transparent, credible reporting about the people, places and issues that shape our community.

Launching in 2026, The Issaquah Spotlight is a community-led effort to establish a weekly digital newspaper. Every Friday, subscribers will receive 3-4 stories in their email inbox highlighting what matters most to our community.

We value credibility, transparency, independence and service, with a focus on stories that reflect Issaquah’s many voices, issues and perspectives. Coverage features local government, our schools, public safety, transportation, businesses and more. Subscribe for free and be sure to spread the word with your neighbors and friends.

We’ve hired a reporter and editor, established a Board of Directors, launched our website and built a clear financial plan. We’re doing the work to ensure Issaquah has a trusted, sustainable source of local news.

If you believe local news is essential to an informed, engaged and thriving community, then you’re already a part of this effort. Subscribe, spread the word and support The Issaquah Spotlight!
