On May 28, the Sound Transit Board of Directors convened before a packed room of regional residents to determine the fate of the agency’s ambitious Sound Transit 3 package extensions, now staring down a $34.5 billion budget shortfall.

After passing the resolution with a 16-2 vote, several lines were tabled. However, the South Kirkland-to-Issaquah 4 Line remained on the map, with the caveat that its completion date would be pushed from 2044 to 2050.
